- to enable you to discuss research issues with practising researchers, and to make you aware of current research in Philosophy

Brief description of teaching and learning methods: 
Teaching is primarily by means of individual supervision, supplemented by classes according to student interest and staff research activity. 
Students are entitled to one brief introductory supervision and three substantial supervisions for each essay. It is the student's responsibility to arrange the supervisions and to spread them fairly evenly throughout the term.
